2. GI Tag is Given by Whom ?
The Indian Parliament passed the Geographical Indications of Goods (Registration and Protection) Act in December 1999. The Act is administered by the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks, who is also the Registrar of Geographical Indications.
