The town of Marrayoor in Kerala, which is located at 1,600 meters (5,200 feet) above mean sea level, is renowned for producing some of India's sweetest sugarcane, which is known as Marayoor or Marayur jaggery. The regions are recognized for producing some of the best jaggery in India because of their natural water supply, fertile soil, and cool tropical climate. These factors are also thought to have contributed to the sugarcane's superiority and sweetness.
